Yesterday was my biggest and best day at the hospital so far. After being off steroids for a week and feeling better than I have in a long time I couldn't wait to go and see my gastro nurse to find out what the next step for me was. Before seeing Deborah I was weighed (I've lost weight!) and measured (I've grown an inch!) and then we went to her office to talk about how I've been recently. My previous blood test showed that my bloods were normal, however Tuesdays showed some inflammation but this is normal for someone who has just come off steroids. I don't really have any symptoms at the moment and the good news is I have been taken off all my medication except Azathioprine and Humira isn't on the cards for me yet!
The other great news is that Deborah agreed I can go interrailing so we booked our tickets and are going on June 5th! I can't believe it is actually happening!

Interrailing
I mentioned in a post a little while ago that me and Lisa were planning an Interrailing trip around Europe for this summer. While we were in town this week we decided to pick up a few things, mainly from the pound shops, just to start building up the things we will need. This is what we got!
Bum bag, (?!?) 99p. To keep my passport, money, phone etc in. Pen knife, 99p. Comes with lots of attachments including scissors, corkscrew, nail file and loads more I could event think of a use for! Combination torch, £1 very small and lightweight and doesn't need batteries. Washing sheets, 50p. We saw these reduced in Wilkinsons and thought they would be really useful for washing small bits while we're away. There are so many sheets in them they should last the whole trip.
First aid kit, 99p. This is just a really basic first aid kit but it does include gloves and some sterile wipes, we are going to add our own things to it like plasters and paracetamol. Locks and bike lock, £1 each. These are to keep our backpack secure, the bike lock can be used to attach the bag to the bed in case there are no lockers in the hostel.
Has anyone else been interrailing? What are your tips?

Easter
This Easter weekend has been lovely! Friday was spent shopping with my mum in Bedford and then decorating the Easter tree she grabbed from the side of the road! Saturday I made some cakes from a Betty Crocker set that came in my birthday hamper and this is how they turned out. We then went off to my Grandparents with dad and had a massive roast which was lovely and we have planned to see them again on Friday for Granddads Birthday
Sunday has been spent sorting out bedrooms, eating yet another roast (I can never have enough when I'm home from Uni!) and a whole lemon meringue pie. I booked my 2nd theory test after my other one ran out, I am determined to drive this year and mum paid for it as an Easter gift instead of eggs. I also started planning Lisa and I's Interrailing trip for this summer. I received a cheque in the post from a bank account I closed that I forgot I had which has given me enough funds to pay for the whole 22 day ticket. Exciting stuff!
